Bushcraft is a term that is often used to describe the skills and knowledge needed to survive and be comfortable in the outdoors; often drawing on the natural resources found in the environment. The most common introduction most people have to Bushcraft is through Ray Mears and his BBC TV programmes.

The subject of Bushcraft is immense and covers a huge variety of subjects and activities, a few would include:

Bushcraft/Woodland skills; e.g. fire lighting, shelter building, knife/axe use
Ecology and conservation
Wildlife Study; animal lore, animal tracking, tree and plant use
Physical activity including; walking and camping
Cultural studies; including British primitive culture       e.g. flint knapping, wild food

Due to the wide range of subjects Bushcraft covers it will allow a number of different and distinct projects to be offered.
